1. Dow Hill in Kurseong – Darjeeling
Legend has it that the Dow Hill Forest area in Kurseong was a place where a number of murders had taken place in the past. Locals claim to keep spotting a headless boy aimlessly walking around in the forest. The Dow Hills Girls boarding school is also known for some unexplained activities. 2 Jatinga - Valley of Death for Birds, Assam



One of the most unexplained phenomenon takes place every year around monsoons in this Assamese village. On New moon every night a number of birds begin to take flight in the darkness only to collide against trees and die. The incident has left locals and ornithologists baffled for a long time. This peculiar behavior by the birds still remains unexplained. Some say that back in the 20th century, three women were out to death for practicing black magic and the spirits of these women seek solace in the death of the birds. The place has gained the infamous name of 'suicide point'.
