Xiaomi is set to launch a
new budget smartphone in India through e-commerce site Amazon on August 27. In
fact, a microsite on Amazon has revealed some key features and details of the
upcoming Redmi 9 ahead of the phone's launch.
Although Xiaomi has already
launched Redmi 9 in international markets, but the Indian version of this phone
maybe a new version of Redmi 9A or Redmi 9C. However, Xiaomi launched Redmi 9
Prime in India earlier this month, priced at Rs 9,999, which is a great phone
at this price.
Redmi 9 Expected Specifications
Talking about the
specification of Redmi 9, the microsite on Amazon has left some clues. Like the
global version, the Indian version of Redmi 9 comes with a 6.53-inch display
with full HD + 720 x 1600 pixel-screen resolution.
Talking about the phone's
processor, the phone is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G35, the phone
comes with 2GB and 3GB RAM options and sports up to 64GB of onboard storage.
According to the microsite, the smartphone will reportedly run on Android 10
with MIUI 12 on top.
On the camera, Redmi 9 will
sport an AI-powered dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary lens
with f / 2.2 aperture and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor with f / 2.4 aperture.
The front will have a 5-megapixel camera for selfie and video calling.
The phone will reportedly
not have fast charging support, the phone is also expected to have a 5,000mAh battery
with 10W charging support and will come with a micro-USB connector and 3.5mm
headphone jack.
While nothing has yet been
known as to how much the phone might cost, the Redmi 9 can be expected to be
placed in the mid-range range just like other smartphones in the Redmi 9
series.
