The
teenager reportedly used his father's life savings on the battle royale
game. PUBG Mobile, the coronavirus remains a popular game in times of
global pandemics, in times of global pandemics, people are more inclined to
spend time playing the game and, according to Sensor Tower analysis, managed to
see steady growth in its revenue. Stayed.
However, the battle royale game from Tencent Games has also
received flak from different corners for its "addictive" gameplay
that has taken its users to the extremes. A new report on Thursday claimed that
a teenager from Punjab spent Rs. 16 lakhs from his parents' bank accounts
to make in-app purchases on PUBG Mobile. It was added that the 17-year-old from
Kharar spent his father's life's savings kept for medical expenses.
Citing
Kishore's parents, a report by Tribune India claimed that the teenager had
access to three bank accounts, which he used for his PUBG mobile account. The
teenager reportedly made in-app purchases for her peers as well. The report
said that the family came to know about this from their bank statements.
Teenger father is said to be a government employee and also his
medical history for which he had saved money. The father, who did not wish to
be named, told Tribune India that the 17-year-old lived with his mother while
he was stationed elsewhere. The father said, "He used his mother's mobile
phone to transact all the money and deleted all the messages that were debited
from the account.
That report claimed that the parents of the 17-year-old teenager
thought the teenager was "using smartphones for online study". After
the incident, the teenager started working in a repair shop to avoid spending
more time on PUBG Mobile. The father told the daily, "I cannot allow a
teenager to sit idle at home and not even provide a mobile phone for
studies."
Let me tell you this
is not the first incident. PUBG addiction has also led to many incidents in the
past where we have also come to know about the violence allegedly caused by
"PUBG addiction".
Meanwhile, a report by
Sensor Tower states that Tencent's PUBG Mobile has seen a user spend of around
Rs 1,668 crore in May at $ 226 million. The first half of this year has seen
massive global revenue gains, bringing its lifetime collection to $ 3 billion
which is approximately Rs 22,457 crore.
The Punjab Kishore an incident may surprise you, but this is hardly the first time a child or a teenager has spent such a huge amount for a PUBG mobile battle royal game.
