Amazon Prime Video Going to Start Premier League matches Free-to-Air

The Premier League is set to resume behind closed doors on 17 June after being suspended since March due to a coronovirus epidemic.

Amazon Prime will make its four Premier League matches free-to-air for the remaining matches of the 2019/20 season as broadcasters prepare for a return to English top-flight.

After the Premier League has been suspended since March due to a coronovirus epidemic, the Premier League is scheduled to open again for the Amazon on June 17, and four Premier League matches will be resumed behind the doors.

All 92 remaining fixtures will be broadcast on live TV and Amazon has a small package of games. Unlike earlier this season, fans will not need a major subscription to view the fixtures on the online platform.

Amazon Prime Video Sport Europe managing director Alex Green said, "Like the rest of the country, we are excited for the return of the Premier League." "We will provide all four of the fixes in addition to Amazon Prime Video in the 2019–20 season, which fans will not need for Prime Membership to watch the game on Prime Video."

The online streaming service entered the competitive Premier League live rights market in 2018, changing the landscape of British sports broadcasting. Sky Sports has announced that 25 of its 64 matches will be free-to-air on its pickup channel, while the BBC has the rights to screen four games on terrestrial TV.

This will be the first time the BBC has shown any live English top-flight action since 1988.
